The BitShield crypto wallet is a noncustodial HD Bitcoin wallet App that allows you to simply manage your blockchain finances securely. The app is carefully designed to have an easy-to-use interface for new users, with no unnecessary bells and whistles.
Design
The Bitshield wallet has a very simple but easy-to-use design, with only features that are necessary to the HD wallet. When opening the wallet app, you will land on the first of the 3 tabs in the wallet, which is the receive tab. Besides that, there is a recent tab where you can see the current Bitcoin price and the past transactions, and a third send tab that lets you send bitcoin by scanning a Bitcoin address QR code. On the send page, you have to put in the amount of Bitcoin you want to send, which is then also displayed in dollar amounts below it.
On every tab in the wallet, you will also find a setting icon on the top left which will show you the settings where you can change your pin, currency, and back up your wallet using a 12-word secret phrase. The Bitshield wallet is very simple but looks like a good wallet for Bitcoin beginners as it is a very easy-to-understand wallet.
Features
When It comes to extra features (besides sending and receiving crypto) Bitshield wallet offers the following.
- Wallet ID integration (The Wallet ID allows you to verify wallet balance, without revealing any personal information or public address)
Improvements
Like every other Wallet out there, the Bitshield wallet has flaws and missing things. The flaws that we point out are of course based on our personal opinion. And we would like to point out that they don’t always have to be a hindrance to anyone.
The Bitshield wallet seems like a fun wallet, but like everything, it could use some improvements. It would be nice to see a bit more different features/functions within the wallet. Currently, has just one function and this makes it unattractive to keep on using for a longer period of time. However, Bitshield could change this by adding more features or even different blockchains to the wallet.
Conclusion
Bitshield wallet is a simplistic and easy-to-use HD wallet. The styling and lack of features are what gives it, it's easy to use, but are also its biggest flaws. This makes it not a good wallet to keep on using over time. Besides all that I think that the Bitshield wallet is a good wallet to try out Bitcoin for beginners, but I would not recommend it for more experienced users and users that want to keep on using Bitcoin in the long run. Overall, the wallet performs very well and thus deserves a fair rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars.
